Levitating Magnet Over A Spinning Disc
Description
A magnet attached to a plastic strip resting on a metal plate that spins on a DC motor.
Purpose
Show Lenz's law, particularly that the induced current opposes a change in flux.
Apparatus
- Banana wires
Setup
Plug the apparatus into the power supply and slowly increase the power/speed until the magnet levitates above the disc.
