Magnet falls slower through tube than in free fall

Demonstrate induced current/magnetic fields.

Copper tube, magnets

Drop a magnet down the tube to see how it slowed by induced currents. Other identically shaped metals are available as a control.

Please take care not to drop the copper tube as dents will not allow objects to pass through. Updated on 05/30/13
