• With the iron rod placed in the coil, use the switches to obtain the capacitance which gives maximum brightness in the lamp which is in series with the capacitors and the coil. (Iron rod is missing)

• With the iron rod removed, repeat the experiment to obtain a larger value of capacitance which gives maximum brightness.

• By trial and error, a value of capacitance can be obtained which will give maximum brightness with the rod only partially in the coil. Movement of the rod can then be done to demonstrate inductive tuning.
