When the ends of the wire loop are connected to an ammeter and the loop is waved over a magnet, the ammeter will register an induced current in the wire. There is a large version of the loop that works with the earth's natural magnetic field.
This product is used to demonstrate Lenz's law. When there is a change in magnetic flux through the loop, a current is induced in the loop.
