Wheatstone Bridge
Description
Find the value of an unknown resistor.
Purpose
Calculate the value of an unknown resistor using Kirchhoff's Laws.
Apparatus
Wheatstone demo, 10^-3 galvanometer
Set up: Place a resistor, of unknown value, from the box into the circuit. To determine the value of this resistor turn the switch on and adjust the variable resistor until no current flows through the galvanometer. At this point the variable resistor will have the same resistance as the unknown resistor. Confirm with values labeled on reverse of demo.
