Your MP3 player is connected to a transmitter which emits a laser to be pointed at an identical shaped receiver. This receiver is then connected to a speaker, amplifying your audio from the MP3. Can also put in place an intermediary step by directing the transmitter's laser at a series of mirrors, which reflects the beam towards the receiver. Updated on 06/10/13
