Demonstrate the concept behind hydro electricity. Show how a water wheel converts energy from falling water into electricity.

Big Hydro demo, bucket

Set up: This demo sets up well on the two-shelf cart. Fill jug (1/4 full is plenty) with water and place it on top shelf. Place empty bucket on lower shelf and place the exit tubes inside. Turn handle to start water flow; LEDs in house will light up as wheel turns.

A pump is also available to demonstrate how hydro companies use excess power to pump water back up to the reservoir.
