Hover Pucks

Description

Air Hockey Hover Pucks.

Shoot one puck parallel to the edges of the table towards another puck that is stationary. Place a meter stick along each edge to measure the distances d1 and d2 that puck 1 and 2 travel from the point of collision, parallel to the sticks. A measurement can then be made of the directional velocities of each puck, theta 1 and theta 2. The angle between the two pucks, assuming an elastic collision, should always equal 90 degrees.
