====== Leslie's Cube ====== {{tag> heat emission absorption reflection untagged located}} {{IMG_2224.jpg?400|}} // // ===== Description ===== Reflectiveness and radiation Named after John Leslie, a Scottish physicist from the 1800s, best known for his research into heat. The cube has sides as follows; two copper, one painted black, one reflective metal. The cube is filled with boiling water and the radiation from the black side is the greatest and from the shiny side it is negligible. \\ There is another cube with black, white, and aluminum foil sides set on a turntable so that it can be rotated. ===== Purpose ===== ===== Apparatus ===== ===== Setup ===== The [[ demonstrations:9_equipment:infrared_camera:start |Infrared camera]] can be used to show the the different heating effects. ===== Notes ===== // Demo room information // | **Location** | C2 | | **Maker** | Unknown | | **Current State** | Working |
